DPF Cleaning

DPF Cleaning & Regeneration

Mobile DPF Cleaning at Home or Work

Have you got a DPF warning light? - The sooner you act the better

When your DPF warning light has illuminated it has detected a problem

The longer you leave it the more your DPF will block and the most expensive it will be to fix

We diagnose the cause of the problem and can clean the DPF if required and force regenerate it

When a DPF has become too blocked the engine management will not allow any further regenerating!

The common way to fix this is an expensive replacement DPF, not anymore we can clean the DPF while still on the vehicle and regenerate it saving you a fortune in repair bills. Cost of our service varies according to the work required but will range from £50 - £250

Warning about DPF removal

It has been a popular practice to remove the DPF when it has become blocked as this seemed an easier option

In 2014 it was made illegal to operate a car that has had the manufacturer fitted DPF removed

Also in the near future MOT's will include an emissions test that will catch out cars with missing DPF's

Diesel Particulate Filter

What is a Diesel Particulate filter?

A diesel particulate filter (DPF) is fitted to a diesel vehicle which filters particulate matter from exhaust gases. It traps solid particles while letting gases escape. Filters like this have been used for over 20 years, they reduce particulate emissions to help meet European emission standards and improve air quality

What is Particle Matter?

Particle Matter is a mixture of solid and liquid particles, including carbon, organic chemicals, ammonium nitrates, sulphate, sodium chloride, dust, water and a several metals

DPF's fill with particulate and need to be cleared, this is achieved with regeneration, which is a process of burning the soot to gas at high temperatures leaving behind a very small amount of ash.

Regeneration Failure

If Regeneration fails it will lead to a build-up of soot which will affect performance and can lead to expensive repair costs. This has led to some diesel vehicle owners removing the DPF, removal has both legal and social implications.

The Law and Mot Test

From February 2014 the inspection of the exhaust system carried out during the MoT test includes a check for the presence of a DPF. A missing DPF, where one was fitted when the vehicle was built, will result in a MOT failure.

A DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) also known as FAP on some French vehicles, is a device fitted to the exhaust system of modern diesel vehicles to reduce emissions and meet European emission standards. It does this by trapping Soot (Particulate Matter - PM) from the exhaust gasses while letting the gasses flow through the system.

If your warning light or Anti-Pollution warning is on, please do not ignore it (typical dash warning symbols below). Get professional advice, consider your options carefully and attend to the problem. Leaving it will ultimately cost you much more in additional repair bills and it can be dangerous.

If your Warning Light comes on, we have the solution to fix the problem. By the time your warning lights are visible your DPF will already be significantly blocked. Forced regeneration by a garage or a “blast down the motorway” is not likely to cure the problem, these only work as preventative maintenance.

From February 2014 the inspection of the exhaust system carried out during the MOT will include a visual check for the presence of a DPF canister, if fitted as standard equipment.

MOT will include a visual check for the presence of a DPF canister, if fitted as standard equipment.
